This role provides an opportunity to be a leader at the ground level of Harman’s sustainability strategy for the automotive division while creating a large path for future career opportunities in a field that is expanding at a rapid rate.
What You Will Do
- Understand and monitor global legislation, industry and customer requirements in regards to decarbonization and emissions reduction
- Drive the decarbonization strategy for the Automotive division and coordinate execution in line with corporate and divisional goals, industry requirements and trends
- Establish and maintain carbon calculation method and monitor carbon footprint metrics
- Define a roadmap for carbon footprint reduction and utilize tools and processes to monitor, report and generate transparency on status and progress
- Support and engage the product development and operations teams in implementing, measuring, tracking and reducing CO2 emissions
- Support customer teams to make sure that products being proposed for customer quotes are complying with sustainability and carbon footprint guidelines
- Serve as advisor, business partner and link directly supporting the business unit and functional leaders on decarbonization / carbon footprint initiatives, goals and methodology
- Attend Sustainability Seminars and Webinars to keep abreast of decarbonization initiatives and levers
What You Need
Bachelor’s or Masters in either Environmental, Engineering or other related fields5 years professional experience in large, multinational, complex companies in automotive / electrical manufacturing sector driving emissions metrics and decarbonization programsData analysis skills. Understanding of GHG metrics and SBTi methodologyExperience translating GHG emissions findings into actionable recommendations for decarbonization, in particular product carbon footprint reduction leversStrong project management skills with cross-functional approachExcellent team player and communication skills with peers at all levels of the organizationWhat is Nice to Have
Familiarity with mechanical and electrical development and manufacturing processesA willingness to collect and analyze large amounts of data and very good knowledge of Excel Macros and Pivot tables are a plus). If not Excel, then a good knowledge of other tools to analyze large amounts of data.Expert problem solver with the ability to identify and triage data to drive tactical solutionsGood knowledge of PowerPoint for creating presentations / report-outsWhat Makes You Eligible
