Stellenbeschreibung

Quantum computing potentially offers orders of magnitude faster quantummechanical calculations for materials simulation at a much higher accuracy than classical abinitio methods on conventional highperformance computers. It also allows true computational design of e.g. new materials to improve catalytic processes or understanding of degradation phenomena on the atomistic level which enables the knowledgebased optimization of load process and operation conditions in devices like fuel cells.

  • In this PhD thesis you will focus on the development and testing of hybrid quantumclassical workflows simulation tools as well as quantumalgorithms.
  • The research of relevant models for simulating industrially relevant materials on a nearterm quantum computer is also part of your area of responsibility.

Qualifications :

  • Education : excellent degree in Physics Chemistry or Computational Science with focus in theoretical solidstate Physics Quantum Mechanics Quantum Computing or related fields
  • Experience and Knowledge : additional knowledge and experience in density functional theory Hubbard models or quantum circuits is a benefit excellent communication skills programming experience (e.g. python Fortran C)
  • Personality and Working Practice : you are not only an open and outgoing team player but also a selfmotivated curious and inquisitive person who likes to use their creativity; you also know how to work independently quickly understand logical processes and always keep an eye on the goals
  • Languages : business fluent in English knowledge in German desired
  • Additional Information :

submit all relevant documents (incl. curriculum vitae certificates).
