Your Role

The Head of Corporate Controlling will play a key leadership role within Symrise's Corporate Finance Leadership Team, serving as a strategic partner and financial steward responsible for shaping the controlling landscape across the organization. This includes driving financial transparency, managing performance and efficiency processes and enabling data-driven decision making across all business units, functions and geographies.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will contribute directly to the definition of short, medium and long-term financial goals for the Symrise Group, while driving the tools, structures and standards needed to support a modern and high-performing global Finance organization. As a trusted advisor on all matters relating to the Group's performance, investment planning, financial governance and risk / opportunities management, you will interact closely with the Symrise Executive Board.

As a leader, you will actively shape the structure and capabilities of the Corporate Controlling team globally. This includes mentoring and developing talent, establishing succession plans and fostering a culture of accountability, innovation and performance across the Finance function.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and refinement of the Group’s planning and performance framework, ensuring robust budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning processes across all parts of the business
  • Work closely with business areas as well as the regional organizations and central functions to orchestrate a cohesive approach to resource allocation, target-setting, and scenario analysis
  • Continuously monitor and analyze business performance, evaluating sales and cost developments across segments, divisions and business units identifying efficiency levers, and developing actionable insights to improve profitability
  • Responsible for enhancing the KPI framework and ensuring consistent application throughout the Group / Financial organization
  • Oversee the global cash-flow development and CapEx budget, introduce robust investment controlling standards, and provide financial leadership on M&A activities, including the management of due diligence processes and post-merger integrations to optimize investment and capital allocation
  • Ensure operational excellence and improvements in controlling processes, reporting systems, and financial workflows to support both internal management needs and external reporting obligations
  • Prepare and provide monthly, quarterly and annual reports to the Executive as well as the Supervisory Board.
  • Lead the consolidation of risk and opportunities management processes for Symrise and provide related reporting to different stakeholders within the Group

About You

  • Cegree in Finance, Business Administration, Controlling, or a related field; advanced qualifications (e.g., CPA, CMA, MBA) preferred
  • Extensive leadership experience in corporate controlling or group finance within a multinational, matrixed environment
  • Proven track record in strategic financial planning, performance management, and business partnering
  • Strong controlling experience across commercial, production, R&D and G&A functions
  • Experience in investment planning, CapEx governance, and financial due diligence for M&A transactions
  • Deep expertise in planning and reporting processes under IFRS; knowledge of HGB and international tax structures is an advantage
  • Solid understanding of customer and product costing methodologies; experience in the fragrance and / or flavor industry is a plus
  • Familiarity with BI systems and financial consolidation tools; Hyperion Financial Management is preferred
  • Professional proficiency in written and spoken English and German; knowledge of French is highly desirable
