The Global Procurement division is responsible for BASF's purchasing activities worldwide. We negotiate contracts that provide BASF with tangible added value. Our focus is on the procurement of raw materials, technical goods and services as well as logistics solutions. Our comprehensive market know-how and deep understanding of value-adding chains make us a valuable partner for the operating divisions.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

BASF’S newly established Renewable Carbon unit plays a key role in supporting our customers' green transformation. This unit, positioned within Global Procurement, focuses on securing access to renewable raw materials as an alternative to fossil carbon. This allows producing chemical products with a reduced carbon footprint. The Renewable Carbon team has the task to implement global projects to integrate sustainable renewable raw materials into our production processes. By collaborating closely with stakeholders across the value chain, we efficiently advance our sustainability initiatives.

As a Working Student in the Renewable Carbon Team, you will contribute to our mission : "Bring renewable carbon into BASF at large scale to offer products with a significantly reduced product carbon footprint to our customers".

  • You develop a market intelligence concept for efficient collection, processing, distribution, and regular updates of market intelligence information on biobased, mass-balanced, low-PCF products and competitors, using AI tools.
  • Furthermore, you modernize complex Excel databases with Power Apps to capture data, simplify tasks, and visualize content.
  • You also support the analysis of the operational demand forecast and forecast accuracy, optimize the monthly forecast tool and digitalize it.
  • You build the framework for global project tracking and reporting (Power BI, Lists, Custom Web Reporting Tool), conduct data analysis to support the Renewable Carbon strategy controlling and support building and steering the global Mass Balance communities (e.g., by preparing and guiding respective team meetings).

WHAT YOU OFFER

  • ongoing studies in international business, business informatics, environmental engineering, or science
  • experience in data visualization (e.g., Power BI) and Power Apps
  • knowledge of AI tools is a plus
  • proficient in standard IT applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Teams)
  • excellent communication skills in English, knowledge of the German language is an advantage
  • enjoy achieving success and developing together as a team
  • independent, result-oriented way of working
