Job Description

IFF N&H Germany GmbH & Co. KG is looking for a EHS Manager (m / f / d) for its locations in Stade & Bomlitz.

The IFF Pharma Solutions business produces and sells high-performance cellulose derivatives, alginates and related polymers used for formulations across a broad variety of applications in the Pharmaceuticals, Food, and Industrial Specialties and Personal Care markets.

The portfolio is a highly profitable part of the company and has shown significant value growth over the last several years.

Within IFF’s Pharma Solutions business EHS is a strategic area of focus and can deliver a competitive advantage. It impacts multiple stakeholders and functions within the business, at all levels.

Your tasks :

• Fullfilling the role of Workplace Safety Officer according to German Law ( Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit )
• Consultation and support of leadership in all aspects of Workplace Safety and Employee Health, including doing and reviewing of hazard and risk analysis.
• Preparation, doing and follow-up of safety walks and internal / external audits
• Coordination and further development of hazardous substance management, considering all elements of chemical law, REACH, CLP, etc.
• Development, control and coordination of the implementation of EHS relevant standards and programs
• Identification of improvement opportunities and management of implementation measures with partners within the organization at the Bomlitz and Stade locations.
• Active networking across the global company's EHS organization
• Monitoring, tracking and implementation of legal requirements in the areas of workplace safety, hazardous substance management / chemical law, environmental protection, fire protection, hazard prevention / emergency management, and site security

Job Requirements

Your profile :

• University degree in chemical engineering, chemical engineering, environmental engineering, workplace safety, or comparable training
• Knowledge and relevant trainings in the area of hazardous substance management / chemical law
• Several years of professional experience in production in the chemical industry
• Several years of experience in the area of occupational and plant safety
• Certification as Sicherheitsfachkraft
• Ideally, knowledge of security and emergency management
• Fluent German and English skills
• First experience in employee and team leadership
