Postdoctoral Researcher – FunctionalGenomics in AML

We are targeting applicants ofall genders.)

Full time | Limited to two years |Announcement number : 185-2025

The Department of Hematology and Oncology at theUniversity Hospital Frankfurt provides a comprehensive range ofdiagnostic and therapeutic services for patients with solid tumorsand malignancies of the hematopoietic system. Within thisscientific environment, the research group, led by Prof. Dr. med.Thomas Oellerich, focuses on uncovering oncogenic signalingpathways, regulators of tumor viability, and mechanisms ofresistance to therapies, with a primary emphasis on acute myeloidleukemia (AML) and aggressive lymphomas.

The Oellerich Lab leveragescutting-edge proteogenomics and functional genomics to explore themolecular underpinnings of hematological cancers. The laboratory ispart of the Frankfurt Cancer Institute (FCI) and the GermanConsortium for Translational Cancer Research (DKTK), supported bythe research infrastructure of the University Hospital Frankfurtand the Georg-Speyer-Haus. Strategic collaborations withinternational institutions, including the NIH and the Dana-FarberCancer Center, further enhance the lab’s globalimpact.

The lab is seeking a motivatedpostdoctoral researcher to join a project funded by the GermanCancer Aid (Deutsche Krebshilfe). The role focuses on elucidatingmolecular mechanisms of oncogenesis and therapy resistance in AML.The candidate will develop multiplexed, high-throughput functionalgenomic screens to dissect the roles of oncogenic drivers andresistance pathways.

The lab employs a wide arrayof experimental techniques, including :

  • Single-cell CRISPR / Cas9screening technologies
  • Quantitative(phospho-)proteomics
  • Next-generation sequencing(NGS) and single-cell RNAsequencing
  • Fluorescence-activated cell sorting(FACS) and advanced flowcytometry
  • High-resolution imaging technologies, such as proximity ligation assays (PLAs) and super-resolutionmicroscopy
  • Computationalbiology
