As a Computational Biotechnologist, your role will be pivotal in advancing sophisticated models for bioprocesses. This includes delving into mass and heat transport and transfer, process control, optimisation, and scaling strategies.
You'll focus on tailoring models specifically for cell and gene therapy processes. Your expertise in systems biology, control engineering, mass transfer, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) will drive the evolution of technology, reinforcing our position as leaders in the biopharmaceutical realm.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Develop and fine-tune computational models to deepen understanding and predict outcomes in various bioprocesses.
- Analyze mass and heat transport within bioprocesses, contributing to optimized production environments.
- Devise process control methods, incorporating both open and closed loop systems, to maintain stability and efficiency.
- Innovate strategies for process optimization, pinpointing areas for enhanced efficiency, robustness, and cost-effectiveness.
- Engineer scalable approaches for process scale-up and scale-down, streamlining the transition from research to commercial production.
- Contribute to the creation of models tailored for cell and gene therapy processes, tackling the distinctive challenges of these cutting-edge fields.
Key Skills and Qualifications :
- Hold an advanced degree in Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Systems Biology, or a related discipline.
- Possess a profound grasp of systems biology and modeling principles, encompassing growth models, kinetic models, and thermodynamics.
- Demonstrate experience in constructing dynamic models, systems, and parameter identification.
- Showcase expertise in systems and control engineering, including dynamic model development and parameter identification.
- Exhibit proficiency in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and chemical engineering processes.
- Display strong statistical analysis skills, with proficiency in statistical software.
- Command programming languages relevant to computational modeling, such as Python and Matlab.
- Excel in problem-solving, underpinned by a robust analytical approach.
- Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team, communicating complex concepts clearly and concisely.
