Site Manager (m / f / d)
A new warehouse with approximately 80-120 employees is being established in Magdeburg (Germany) for a well-known tire manufacturer.
Responsibilities
- Implement short-term plans and identify strategic objectives to set performance targets and fulfill the facility's mission and strategic plans.
- Manage all business unit resources to successfully deliver results in terms of quality, cost, safety, and service .
- Develop high-performing work teams to effectively meet the changing needs of the business by motivating, organizing, and fostering teamwork within the workforce to ensure established productivity goals are met.
- Use standard operating procedures to resolve and troubleshoot problems.
- Conduct daily status meetings with the management team to review the previous day's performance, develop action plans for the day, and determine the department’s daily staffing.
- Conduct weekly staff reviews to ensure proper staffing for operational departments.
- Report statistics daily, weekly, and monthly to team leaders.
- Support safety programs to reduce or eliminate workplace injuries.
- Conduct employee counseling and annual performance evaluations .
- Develop action plans for conducting internal analysis and gap identification , review current or future trends indicating potential gaps in incoming or outgoing functions or staff, and provide recommendations based on findings.
- Develop a productivity improvement plan for each performance metric or identified improvement areas.
- Monitor department budgets monthly and support the development of operational function budgets.
- Manage direct / indirect costs incurred during warehouse operations, including labor costs, and negotiate and claim costs with management and LSPs (Logistics Service Providers) .
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or equivalent experience required.10+ years of logistics experience required.3+ years of warehouse management experience required.Experience in KPI management, inventory control, inventory accuracy, inventory consistency, and inventory availability is required.Experience and ability to collaborate with the distribution center, supply chain team, and carriers to resolve inbound / outbound shipment issues required.Ability to expedite emergency requests .Ability to analyze and report recommendations and results related to operations .Excellent oral and written communication skills to ensure communication with relevant stakeholders, with appropriate ad-hoc reports and analyses issued in a timely and accurate manner .Ability to maintain warehouse operations to comply with all regulatory obligations , including but not limited to OSHA and other government regulations .Physical Requirements
