Key responsibilities

At the ABB Corporate Research Center Germany ( https : / / www.youtube.com / watch?v=Vd4BLrNbvlc ), we research and prototype innovative technologies that shape ABB's future product portfolio for sustainable automation, digitalization, and electrification. We work in cross-functional teams at the intersection of industrial research, end-customers, start-ups, and universities globally.

You will be mainly accountable for :

• You bridge the gap between academic AI and machine learning research and industrial applications. You adopt cutting-edge AI technologies to enhance the reliability of industrial assets, improve the efficiency and resilience of industrial processes and drive the future of autonomous operations.
• You explore how graphs can benefit various AI and machine learning solutions and bring them closer to real world to address industrial challenges.
• You work with diverse types of industrial data, such as textual, tabular, image, and time series data.
• You build proof-of-concepts and prototypes that convince internal stakeholders to commercialize your research results.
• You work closely with ABB's end-customers to develop innovative industrial AI solutions, e.g. in public funded consortia projects like https : / / explain-project.eu / , https : / / keen-plattform.de / , or https : / / www.projekt-aprosys.de /
• You participate in agile applied-research projects and work collaboratively with global ABB product development teams, ABB's technology partners and academic institutions.
• You present your work to expert and management audiences within and outside ABB, as well as at scientific conferences / journals and trade fairs.
• You secure intellectual property by patent applications.
• You strongly develop your technical and soft skills to boost your career at ABB.
