Location : Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC), Germany
Minimum Qualifications :
- Degree : Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from a Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) approved school of medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) from an American Osteopathic Association (AOA) approved school of osteopathic medicine, or a medical or osteopathy school acceptable to the Surgeon General.
- Education : Graduate from an accredited medical school in the United States or Canada. This degree must have been accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association; Association of American Medical Colleges; Liaison Committee on Medical Education; Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) at the time the degree was obtained.
- Certification : Board certified Physiatrist.
- Internship / Residency : Successful completion of an internship and residency program as a Physiatrist which has been approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or the Committee on Postdoctoral Training of the American Osteopathic Association. Subsequent to obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree, a candidate must have had at least 1 year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting.
- Experience : A minimum of 12 months of experience in physical medicine, occupational medicine, or flight and operational medicine within the past 36 months.
- Licensure : Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine as a Physiatrist.
Core Duties : Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to :
Knowledge of and alignment of work with all applicable DHA Directives, Medical Center Policies, standard work, etc. to ensure appropriate completion of assigned work.An integral member of the Interdisciplinary PM&R / PM Team, Interdisciplinary Amputee Clinic Team and Rehabilitation Service Team as needed in the delivery of care for patients.Familiar with and adheres to the Medical Staff Bylaws of this facility.Provides patient care in the PM&R clinic, other clinics as determined by departmental need, and inpatient care on the inpatient unit / inpatient consults.Provide physiatry services as specified in his / her clinical privileges.Responsible for providing the patient with risks, benefits and alternative treatments and securing the informed consent of the patient / family needed before conducting invasive procedures.Evaluates the patient to assess any changes in the physical status and make recommendations for continued care as needed.Provide recommendations and works with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care to provide optimal functioning, decrease level of pain, and improve quality of life.Collaborates with the Coordinators of the Polytrauma / TBI, amputee, EMG and procedure clinics providing coverage for these clinics when there is a need.Makes recommendations to Rehabilitation Service Chief regarding all resource management issues, including equipment, space, and educational opportunities etc.Consults requesting Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation services are performed in a timely manner and that the results are made readily available to the referring practitioners.Working knowledge and understanding of compliance with expected clinic operational and quality metrics.Work Schedule :
Time frame, Period of Performance, for 90 day coverage : 01 July 2024 – 30 September 2024.Anticipated work schedule : Mon – Fri 0730 – 1700.Duty Location : LRMC, Bldg 3767, Rm 9D215.No weekends required.No inpatient call required.No nights required.MHS Genesis Experience in the requested position required - 1 year.J-18808-Ljbffr
