Hauptaufgaben

Operates Tower Range Control Station or Portable Handheld Computer of various Target Systems, e.g. TRACR (Targetry Range Automated Control and Recording), LOMAH (Location of Miss and Hit, ERETS (Enhanced Remote Engagement Target System), utilizing the computer controlled target system during day and night firing. The computerized target control console provides interface between the range target and scoring mechanisms. These ranges are utilized for collective live fire training and for individual marksmanship qualifications. Incumbent performs duties on an assigned rotating shift that includes nights and weekends. In performing duties of the position, incumbent readies target control console to initiate the operating system to conduct live fire exercise and maintenance operations. Constantly monitors range exercise activities by visual observation of range and results reflected on the control console. During tower operations maintains communication with training unit. Performs target system check on procedures to determine serviceability and operability of target system to detect operational faults. Coordinates with maintenance and range personnel to alert teams of malfunctions or discrepancies and corrective actions to be taken. Operates the control console, responds to or issues instructions during operation to control the execution of the exercise. Sets up the computer program on target control consoles in order to support unit range scenario training objectives. Prints results of each unit's firing activities. Follows numerous safety procedures to avoid adverse conditions, accidents, or injury. Maintains radio communications with range personnel and range control personnel. In absence of the Supervisor and / or Target Maintenance Worker Leader performs facility sign-on and clearance operations with using units. During non-operational time of PCU, performs Target Maintenance Worker functions such as : cut grass using weed eaters and rider mowers , police area of responsibility; emplaces, moves, installs, maintains or performs simple repair functions on range target systems and components under field conditions, not-requiring the special skills of any particular trade or craftsman. Loads, unloads and moves equipment and supplies as operationally required or directed. Charges and discharges Hoffman Simulator and Battle Effect Simulators (BES) with various pyrotechnic cartridges. Operates an automotive transport vehicle requiring at least a Class CE (old Class II) German Drivers License and / or US Government Motor Vehicle Operators Identification Card. Adheres to traffic regulations and operating instructions. Performs operator's maintenance, maintains trip ticket with necessary information and reports vehicle deficiencies to supervisor for corrective action.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Current employees who do not meet E&T Level I and who are not in the same or similar occupation, must have 2 years of creditable experience that included clerical work in an office or store, working with computers, bookkeeping, making and recording inventories, telephone marketing, arranging for events or as a cashier, etc.

  • Es handelt sich um mehrere unbefristete Vollzeitstellen (38.5Std. / Woche) / These are multiple permanent full-time positions (38.5hrs. / week).
  • Arbeiten an Wochenenden und Feiertagen sowie Wechelschicht Arbeit erforderlich. / Working on weekends and holidays as well as rotating shift work required.
  • Rufbereitschaft erforderlich. / On-Call duty required.
