With currently over 2,500 students, NORDAKADEMIE, founded in 1992, is one of Germany's leading dual universities. Its advantage lies in the close integration of theory and practice. More than 800 companies from all sectors have already cooperated with the private university in Elmshorn, located just outside Hamburg. The University of Applied Sciences offers six dual bachelor's degree programs. When it comes to quality, NORDAKADEMIE plays a pioneering role : since March 2012, it has been one of the few universities in Germany to receive the seal of system accreditation from the Accreditation Council, and in 2018 it was the first university in Germany to be reaccredited. The Hamburg campus was opened in October 2013. Eight part-time master's degree programs as well as continuing education modules and certificate courses are offered here. The university is run by a non-profit stock corporation in which around 40 partner companies and the NORDMETALL employers' association have equal shares.
