The Position :
As the Global Innovation Portfolio Manager at INEOS Styrolution, you take the lead in shaping a strategically balanced R&D portfolio that drives innovation and aligns with our company’s vision. You define the R&D roadmap for the years ahead, ensuring the delivery of impactful results. Owning the end-to-end innovation process, you actively monitor performance metrics to ensure measurable success. Working closely with business, operational, and innovation stakeholders worldwide, you foster alignment across regions and facilitate the seamless transfer of R&D insights into tangible implementations.
What You Will Do :
- Lead Product Innovation : Provide a balanced long and short-term innovation portfolio synchronized with the company and innovation strategy targets.
- Global Innovation Process Monitoring : Keep systems and project lifecycle portals up-to-date, track progress, commercial metrics, and strategic alignment.
- Innovation performance : Provide a clear and transparent management reporting that allows insights into the value and performance of the innovation portfolio.
- Coordinate R&D Knowledge Transfer : Ensure effective transfer and implementation of R&D insights, maintaining close collaboration with global manufacturing sites, R&D teams and business teams.
- Evaluate Projects and Ideas : Initiatively monitor, evaluate and enrich innovation projects.
- Lead Strategic R&D Projects : Take ownership of larger, high-impact R&D projects.
Level of education & Knowledge :
PhD in Engineering, Materials Science or Chemistry is required, an additional MBA is a plus.Knowledge of Intellectual Property (IP) management and innovation.Experience in general :
5-10 years of R&D experience, ideally in polymer chemistry or general chemistry fieldsMinimum of 3 years’ experience in project and / or portfolio managementProven expertise in R&D management and intellectual property.Technical skills :
In-depth know-how of polymer chemistry and physics.Fluent English; German, Dutch or additional languages are a plus.Competencies, Behavioral skills :

This role can be conducted from our Antwerp site in Belgium or from our Cologne site or Frankfurt headquarters in Germany.
This position also requires occasional travel to meet with various internal and external partners.
