Head of Machine Learning and AI | AI FinTech | €30m Series B | Berlin / Munich (Hybrid / Remote)

AI Futures have been exclusively retained to appoint a Head of Machine Learning and AI for one of Europe’s most dynamic FinTech scale-ups, renowned for its explosive growth in revolutionising financing through AI innovation.

Their AI-first SaaS platform streamlines financing, transactions, and valuations for leading banks and developers, powering efficient workflows across a rapidly expanding market.

This is a rare opportunity to join a very profitable, scaling business who are investing heavily in data infrastructure, analytics, and AI to power its next phase of growth.

In this role, you will lead and build up to 5 teams of ML Engineers, AI Engineers and Developers with an Engineering Manager from each Team reporting directly into you.

From a technical standpoint, you will oversee the strategic development of advanced ML and AI systems to transform revolutionary financing processes. Through close collaboration with the Berlin & Munich based C-Suite Teams, you’ll oversee the integration of LLMs & agentic architectures and driving data-driven insights for smarter financing decisions.

This can be a fully remote role across Germany but on-site visits in Munich or Berlin are encouraged.

You must be based in Germany for this position.

The fixed salary is up to €200k + Benefits.

The role :

• Lead and build up to 5 multi-disciplinary teams, providing technical leadership, guidance and mentorship
• Oversee the implementation of cutting-edge ML models and AI solutions, including AI assistants and automated valuation systems, to optimise financing and transaction workflows.
• Oversee the development of agentic systems and RAG pipelines for enhanced data interaction, ensuring scalability and security in multi-tenant environments.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and domain expert teams to integrate AI innovations into the SaaS platform, aligning with business objectives.
• Establish best practices for AI governance, model training, and deployment, leveraging frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch to drive platform efficiency.
