My client is a government organization responsible for the acceleration and development of Irish world-class companies to achieve leading positions in global markets.

Purpose of the Role

The purpose of this role is to build export sales with Irish companies in the DACH region. The Senior Market Advisor will work with their clients to support them in achieving significant growth in their exports.

The role will be Munich based with a view to tapping into the opportunities specifically in southern Germany. The successful candidate will be required to initiate and implement a range of sales and marketing led activities, utilising their networking skills, consultancy skills and contact base, to mentor, identify opportunities and facilitate introductions for Irish client companies to achieve sales and exports.

Your everyday

  • Directly manage a portfolio of Irish client companies targeting the German market. Proactively increase Irish exports to the market in line with targets agreed with the Manager of region and implement a range of services and programmes.
  • Establish an extensive network of contacts at senior level in key companies and organisations and connect client companies to accelerators / mentors / in market supports.

Identify and build strong relationships with decision makers, influencers, media, service providers and consultants in the Bavarian and Baden Wurttemberg region in particular.

Proactively seek out potential market opportunities for individual Irish companies or specific client clusters and help clients to turn these opportunities into real sales.

Introduce Irish companies to buyers and key contacts in the target markets and be responsible for contributing to the overall allotted metrics for the DACH markets.

  • Promote the market to our key client companies, and challenge client companies to market and sell more effectively in-market.
  • Drive export growth by supporting Irish client companies already exporting to Germany to grow sales in the markets.
  • Work with Irish client companies with the potential to export to the market and support their entry through developing their strategies and market plans and identifying their best routes and channels to market.
  • Contribute to the wider team by proposing & implementing new initiatives / project ideas / market opportunities to increase export growth in the market.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within the German team, the client's global overseas network and those working in Ireland, in addition to colleagues from other Government agencies and departments.
  • Working with the Manager in Germany, take a leading role in developing our client's operation in Munich. Be the lead person in representing the Enterprise Ireland office in Munich and successfully coach & lead a small team.

Must haves :

  • Bachelors Degree or higher, in a related discipline
  • 3+ Experience in Commercial / Business Development in German markets with a focus on the Mobility, Aerospace and Electronics sectors
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Mobility, Aerospace and Electronics sectors
  • Fluency in English and German (C2 or native)
  • Full Drivers License
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to communicate with executives from a variety of business disciplines (project management, R&D, engineering, procurement, etc) and at various decision-making and management levels within a corporation.

Would like to have :

  • Direct experience in the Mobility, Aerospace, and Electronics landscape in Benelux sectors will be a distinct advantage
  • Have an existing business network in the DACH market and demonstrate the ability to further build and manage that network, which can be leveraged by Irish companies seeking to export to this market
  • Understanding of and experience with SalesForce, Marketo or other related support systems would be an advantage.
