Position Overview

Vantage Data Centers is looking for aSenior Manager, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS). You will be employed in the position of Senior Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) Manager (Construction) for EMEA. In that capacity you will be expected to perform all acts, duties, and functions as Vantage Data Center (VDC) management may direct and comply with such directions as may be designated by VDC consistent with such position. The role of Senior EH&S Manager is key to ensuring that VDC complies with its EH&S statutory obligations (i.e., Region specific legal and statutory regulations, codes of practice), customer requirements and industry best practice for the designated project/s. The Senior EH&S manager will provide strategic direction, leadership, and management to the VDC Project EHS Manager, EHS Advisor and contractor/s (i.e., where applicable) on VDC EH&S policies, procedures, and contractual requirements for the designated project/s. The Senior EH&S manager will advise the EH&S Director, Senior EH&S Director, VP of EH&S, Development Delivery Directors, and VP of Construction on all relevant EH&S matters. The Senior EH&S Manager in conjunction with the EH&S Director, Site EH&S Manager/s and Development Delivery Director/s will liaise with all external agencies, such as regulatory bodies, customers and third parties on any project-related queries.

Essential Job Functions

• Independently lead and support health and safety programs across multiple data center sites.

• Ensure compliance with global and regional health and safety standards, policies and practices.

• Lead audits and inspections to identify risks and drive corrective actions.

• Manage and analyze safety data and reporting systems to identify trends and recommend improvements.

• Prepare detailed reports and presentations to inform leadership and support strategic decisions.

• Serve as a subject matter expert to internal stakeholders on complex EHS topics.

• Lead risk identification and mitigation strategies in collaboration with site teams.

• Promote a proactive safety culture through leadership, training and engagement

Duties

In your position as Senior Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager for EMEA, your duties will be:

• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) with general contractors (GCs), development delivery, VP of Construction and operational management where required.

• In conjunction with procurement department, participate in GC, Third Party Risk Management (TPRM), Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ), Request for Proposal (RFP) processes and subsequent review meetings and interviews for your designated projects. - Monthly review of the process with the EH&S Director and Senior EH&S Director. - Carry out EHS site inspections / audits of GCs on the tender list for compliance where required. - Participate in a quarterly PQQ review process with VDC procurement department.

• Participate in safety in design process where required.

• Review and approve monthly EHS report compliance across your designated projects (i.e., manhours/work hours, vision zero audit, monthly statistics reports etc.) for submission by the 2 nd day of next month.

• Contribute to the enhancement of the environmental aspects and impacts program across EMEA.

• Lead incident and accident investigator for recordable incidents or accidents for your designated projects.

• Participate in customer meetings (i.e., biweekly progress meetings, incident close-out meetings) and walks where required.

• Participate in bi-annual EHS Safety Management System Reviews to take account of lessons learnt, customer requirements and best practices.

• Lead EH&S wellness initiatives and EH&S campaigns for your designated projects aligning with other international regions.

• Ensure the lessons learnt are shared across all EMEA sites.

• Oversite Requirements for Appointed Projects:

• Carry out EHS onboarding sites EH&S Advisor/s and EH&S Manager/s.

• Visit sites at agreed times throughout the project durations to monitor performance.

• Mentor and provide guidance to the site EH&S Advisor/s and EH&S Manager/s on implementing and maintaining effective EH&S systems, policies, procedures, KPI compliance, RAMS processes, Ops and construction interface activities and contractual requirements.

• Weekly 1/2/1 TEAMS calls with site EH&S Advisor/s and EH&S Manager/s for support.

• Ensure the necessary appointment of GCs under statutory obligations are in place including VDC Fit out activities for the project/s.

• Verify environmental impact assessment (EIA) compliance for the project/s.

• Support and supervise the VDC Procore system compliance.

• Participating in the GC safety improvement plans where required.

• Promote VDC’s Vison Zero culture of caring philosophy with respect to EH&S standards, behaviors, and performance.

• Challenge the norm; drive continuous improvement EHS initiatives.

• Weekly 1/2/1 TEAMS calls with Director and Senior Director of EHS for EMEA.

• Provide a monthly progress report to the EH&S Director and Senior EH&S Director for EMEA.

• Participate in the annual selection and awards of our GC EHS winners.

• Assist with the annual preparation and running of Construction Safety Week.

• Be an active ambassador for corporate social responsibility (CSR) local initiatives and programs.

• Ensure up-to-date knowledge of legislative changes and how they will impact on the organization and communicate this information effectively to EH&S Director, Senior EH&S Director, and key stakeholders.

• Attend courses/seminars run by external sources to enable the organization’s accurate interpretation of EH&S legislation to enable implementation.

• During your employment, as the business of VDC changes, it may be necessary to change or expand your duties within the general scope of your position, however, you will not be required to carry out duties which you cannot perform.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental health and safety or related engineering discipline is preferred.

• A Nebosh certificate holder. (Nebosh Construction Certificate advantageous).

• ISO 45001 Certification (advantageous).

• 5-10 years of experience in construction health and safety (a minimum)

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead initiatives in a dynamic environment.

• Advanced analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.

• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

• Proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook software.

• Comfortable with IT systems and data analysis tools.

• Positive and proactive attitude.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.

• Travel is expected to be up to 5% but may increase over time as the business evolves
