Gnosis Pay provides the API and card-program infrastructure that enables wallets fintechs and businesses to issue stablecoin-powered payment cards and create custom payment flows. Partners can easily connect on-chain wallets to real-world spending.

With our technology users can spend stablecoins directly from their on-chain wallet using a Visa debit card. Transactions are executed through a secure smart-wallet rather than a traditional bank account allowing users to retain full custody of their assets while paying anywhere Visa is accepted.

About the role and team
We build the infrastructure that bridges traditional financial rails and crypto enabling new financial products and seamless integrations. Our goal is to provide a secure scalable and developer-friendly platform that powers both internal product teams and external partners.

We are seeking a seasoned Tech Lead to drive the technical direction and execution for core services within Gnosis Pay. This role is a unique opportunity to shape the performance and scalability of a groundbreaking Web3 infrastructure that bridges self-custodial crypto assets with global Visa acceptance. You will lead by example mentoring engineers and playing a crucial hands-on role.

Technical Leadership & System Design

• Language-agnostic and good managing roadmaps in a dynamic environment with shifting requirements
• Architectural Oversight: Contribute to the definition and improvement of our system architecture ensuring high availability fault tolerance and security across the critical components of the payment lifecycle
• Domain Expertise: Apply and champion Domain-Driven Design (DDD) principles to effectively model complex financial and blockchain-related business domains such as transaction authorization and settlement

• Performance tuning: Drive backend performance by identifying bottlenecks and optimizing database queries and schema design for speed and scalability handling the high volume associated with a global payment network

• Code Quality & Standards: Write clean well-tested and maintainable code adhering strictly to best practices and coding standards. Lead and actively participate in code reviews providing constructive feedback to maintain excellence

• API Development & Documentation: Develop and maintain secure reliable RESTful APIs and integration points that interface with our frontend and third-party partners (e.g. Visa network processing)

People & Process Management

• Mentorship & Growth: Mentor and coach engineers on best practices in Go DDD and scalable system design fostering a culture of technical rigor and continuous improvement
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Product Managers Designers and other engineers to deeply understand requirements for new payment features security enhancements and regulatory compliance translating them into technical specifications

• Incident Response: Take ownership of complex production issues troubleshoot and implement effective and efficient resolutions for core payment services

• Hands-on experience integrating with and operating card scheme rails (e.g. Visa) including scheme rules message flows and real-world production issues around authorizations clearing settlement and disputes
  

• Proven experience as a Senior or Lead Backend Engineer specifically developing and deploying high-scale reliable services (ideally in Fintech Payments or high-throughput systems) and managing teams

• Expert proficiency in Go and TS

• Strong practical understanding and application of Domain-Driven Design (DDD)

• Experience in guiding or executing significant backend refactoring/migration projects between programming languages is highly advantageous

• Familiarity with the Web3/Blockchain/DeFi space particularly concepts related to self-custody or on-chain transaction processing is a strong plus
