These are your tasks

  • Lead a backend development team fostering collaboration and ensuring effective communication with other teams and stakeholders.
  • Drive the development and maintenance of our serviceoriented architecture using PHP and Laravel
  • Design and optimize distributed systems and services that scale
  • Collaborate closely with product managers and other stakeholders to deeply understand business needs and translate them into robust technical solutions.
  • Mentor and guide team members fostering their technical and professional growth.
  • Advocate for and implement best practices including clean code performance optimization and system reliability.
  • Actively contribute to the evolution of our tech stack introducing new tools or processes where necessary to improve efficiency and outcomes.
  • Ensure software quality through the implementation of testing strategies including automated testing.
  • Participate in planning monitoring and improving the platforms performance and scalability

What you are throwing in

Technical Expertise :

  • Proven experience with PHP and the Laravel framework.
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases (MySQL) and distributed data technologies (Redis Elasticsearch / OpenSearch).
  • Handson experience with eventdriven architecture and tools like Kafka.
  • Familiarity with serviceoriented architecture (SOA) principles.
  • Experience in AWS services (e.g. EC2 S3 RDS etc.) and managing Linux systems.
  • A solid understanding of backend testing methodologies and tools (e.g. PHPUnit)

  • Experience leading backend development teams or projects.
  • Ability to mentor and coach team members while fostering a collaborative and highperformance culture.
  • Strong communication skills to bridge the gap between technical and business stakeholders.
