International Tax Manager – Indirect Tax

Our client, a global leader in e-commerce, is looking for an International Tax Manager - Indirect Tax.

Our client is located in Luxembourg and this position is a full time temporary position for 12 months.

Our client seeks a European VAT Manager to support its Operations and Payments Businesses – including Transportation and Logistics, as well as Lending, Currency and other Payment products. The ideal candidate will be able to work with a high level of collegiality, functioning as a VAT adviser to Business partners and other stakeholders seeking to implement new initiatives, and managing VAT planning projects across EU/UK jurisdictions. The role requires involvement beyond providing tax advice – implement requirements with non-Tax stakeholders across Finance and Tech.

Responsibilities:

• Advising business partners and other stakeholders seeking to implement new initiatives (product and country expansions, automation projects)
• Researching advanced VAT issues, working with outside advisers as necessary
• Reviewing financial data for proper application of tax laws and advising on development and maintenance of systems which provide tax information required to be reported
• Maintaining and communicating knowledge of past, present and potential future European VAT laws, regulations, rulings, procedures and court decisions
• Specific deliverables include: external VAT analyses (with the client’s external tax advisors); tax requirement documents (project based); day to day Business support via e-mails and meetings.

Your profile:

• A minimum of 10-12 years of international income tax experience with a public accounting firm, major law firm, and/or in industry, preferably a multinational corporation
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
• Experience of working with European tax laws
