We are looking for a fully qualified lawyer as a “Head of AD SPIR Germany ( Senior Legal Counsel d / m / w)" to head up our Social Policies and Industrial Relations department in Ottobrunn / Taufkirchen at Airbus Defence and Space

You will be heading up a small team of lawyers and experts specializing in Labour and employment law, we are responsible for all labour law issues at Airbus Defence and Space in Germany.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Providing business oriented independent legal advice and HR solutions in the scope of HR Policies & Industrial Relations and Labour law within Airbus ensuring compliance with labour and social regulations
  • Primary interface to the Central Works Council AD and the Union.  Also the AD Economic Committee for the GmbH legal entity.
  • You will represent the divisional interests in terms of personnel policy in the "SPIR Germany" organisation, which is structured across divisions.
  • Ensure alignment and consistency of HR policies across the Group in consideration of Airbus countries’ legislation, economics and social contexts
  • Lead HR contribution in M&A projects as well as reorganization and restructuring processes within Airbus providing expert knowledge in matters related to HR to direct the projects to achieve business objectives
  • Define social policies and coordinate deployment
  • Providing comprehensive employment law advice and representing the company and its subsidiaries in and out of court
  • Advice to HR stakeholders & management with regard to employee and law relations.
  • Drafting and implementing HR policies, processes and agreements in line with the business and HR strategy
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and works agreements
  • Conducting training and information events for managers and HR employees on labour law topics
  • Working in ad hoc projects, across the Airbus Group companies within an international environment
  • Responsible for the day to day management and guidance of the AD SPIR Germany team.

Admission as in-house counsel (Syndikusrechtsanwalt (d / m / w)) will be supported by the company to the extent possible.

Desired skills and qualifications

  • You have both German legal state exams (“Volljurist
  • You have in-depth knowledge in German labour and employment law
  • You have extensive professional experience as in-house Legal Counsel or attorney in an international company / law firm in advising companies on labour law issues, including M&A and restructuring.
  • You have ten years of experience in working with employee representative bodies (trade unions / works councils)
  • You have strong communication and negotiation skills
  • You have fluent negotiation skills in German and English
  • You have Initiative, team orientation, ability to think outside the box, along with the willingness to engage in new topics
