We are looking for an outstanding and highly motivated postdoctoral(i.e., recently or soon-to-be PhD graduate) researcher to join our EnvironmentalRobotics team at MIRMI under the supervision of Prof.
Sami Haddadin. Your workwill extend our existing work on mobile robotic systems for environmentalmonitoring and protection.
You are expected to develop your own scientific ideas / concepts withinthe framework of the research group objectives. We will provide all guidanceand support for writing papers and will submit to our focus conferences IEEEICRA & IROS, and corresponding journals.
Key Responsibilities
- Design of algorithms that connect aerial,ground, aquatic robots such that each domain can effectively contribute itsstrengths to the team to enable efficient monitoring missions.
- Development of a multi-domain framework for autonomousand semi-autonomous navigation.
- Development of a Remote Satellite Lab and itsdigital twin simulation.
- Conceiving experimental setups for real-timefield tests of autonomous robots.
- Outdoor missions at Bavarian lakes andinternational offshore locations.
- Active support in teaching activities at theMaster's and / or Bachelor’s level courses.
- Supervision of Master and Bachelor students.
Your Skills :
- M.Sc. or PhD. with background in robotics, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering or a related field.
- Knowledge in the area of mobile manipulation and control of autonomous vehicles.
- Hands-on experience with developing autonomous and mobile robotic systems, working with both their hardware and software.
- Strong programming skills in C++ or python, and proficiency in ROS.
- Very good command of the English language & good command in German.
- Strong analytical skill, pro-active interpersonal, and communication skills.
- High motivation and willingness to work in an international and interdisciplinary team.
