Senior IT Contractor

Duration : Initial 6 month contract (future extensions expected)

Setup : Employed fixed term contract

Industry : Cyber Security company

Location : Cologne, Hybrid (3 days onsite, 2 days remote), with 5 days onsite for the first month.

Travel : May be some travel to sites in Berlin etc.

Mission : As a Senior IT Contractor, your mission is to enhance our IT infrastructure by configuring and delivering cutting-edge, automated IT support services. Your role is crucial in designing, optimizing, and maintaining our IT systems, ensuring that they are robust, efficient, and aligned with our organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Microsoft Azure Active Directory / Office 365 Administration : Oversee and manage our Azure AD and Office 365 environments, ensuring seamless functionality, security, and a superior user experience.
  • Endpoint Management and Security : Administer and secure business-critical SaaS tools in a hybrid environment, ensuring optimal performance and data protection.
  • Collaboration with System Engineering : Work closely with the system engineering team to analyze complex technical challenges, identify opportunities for automation, and implement innovative solutions.
  • Access and Identity Management : Handle access and identity management requests, maintaining security protocols, ensuring compliance, and expediting service delivery.
  • Network Administration : Troubleshoot and manage network devices and clients, ensuring reliable connectivity and security.
  • IT Onboarding : Streamline the IT onboarding process, including device provisioning (laptops, phones) and delivering tailored training programs to new employees.
  • Hardware Troubleshooting : Serve as a subject matter expert in hardware troubleshooting, providing guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Process Optimization and Automation : Lead efforts to automate IT tasks, reduce team workload, and enhance the user experience.

Qualifications :

  • Technical Expertise : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience. 5-7 years in IT helpdesk, systems administration, or engineering roles in technology-driven organizations.
  • Platform Proficiency : Deep expertise in Azure AD, Office 365, and enterprise identity / productivity tools. Experience with ticket-based systems like Atlassian JIRA.
  • MDM Solutions : Desired experience in Mobile Device Management (MDM) tools such as Meraki, Kandji, Jamf, or Intune.
  • Communication Skills : Strong communication skills with the ability to document processes and collaborate effectively in a remote / hybrid environment.
  • Leadership & Mentorship : Ability to work independently, mentor team members, and contribute to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
