Your Job :
We are looking for a postdoc to further develop probabilistic, statistical and game-theoretical methods for application in international nuclear safeguards. The tasks include :
- Connect existing quantitative methods in international nuclear safeguards with state-of-the-art artificial intelligence / machine learning (AI / ML) algorithms
- Contribute to standardising methodologies for calculating detection probabilities
- Contribute to further improving and harmonizing random verification schemes, including sampling plans and random inspection schemes, and methodologies to evaluate their effectiveness
- Review, update, and consolidate methodologies, including Bayesian methodologies, in the context of material balance evaluation
Your Profile :
PhD in applied mathematics, computer science, physics, or in another relevant natural or engineering scienceGood knowledge of uncertainty quantification (including Bayesian techniques), random sampling, data evaluation methodologies, and game theoryKnowledge of the nuclear fuel cycle and nuclear non-proliferation approachesIndependent and committed way of workingStrong ability to work in a team as well as interest in and ability for interdisciplinary collaborationVery good communication skills in English, spoken and writtenOur Offer :

We offer you an exciting and varied role in an international and interdisciplinary working environment. Limited until 30.09.26, with possible long-term prospects.
