Role Overview
The Software Test Engineer will join a newly established testing function within the software development department. The primary objective of the role is to build up the testing capability and to increase the stability and quality of the software products over the long term. One position is currently available.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and execute manual and automated tests across different levels, including unit, integration, end to end, system, and regression testing.
Define, maintain, and continuously improve test cases, test plans, and test strategies to ensure high quality in terms of functionality, user experience, security, performance, and reliability.
Identify, analyse, document, and communicate defects to development teams in a clear and structured manner.
Participate in agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, as part of the development lifecycle.
Collaborate closely with software development and IT support teams during daily work.
Support second and third level issue resolution where deeper product and system knowledge is required.
Contribute to increasing automated and manual test coverage and to reducing the volume of production bugs and support tickets.
Candidate Profile
Must have
At least three years of professional experience in software testing, including both manual and automated testing activities.
Native level German language skills, suitable for day to day communication with internal stakeholders and partners.
Availability to work on site in Nürnberg in a hybrid model, with regular office presence.
Practical experience with test automation as well as integration and unit testing.
Programming knowledge in JavaScript and C#
Nice to have
ISTQB certification or comparable qualification in software testing.
Experience working with Scrum or similar agile methodologies.
Background in testing web based applications.
Prior hands on experience in software development.
Experience and Education
Professional experience. Minimum of three years in software testing, ideally at senior level.
Education. A degree in computer science or a related discipline is desirable, or a completed IT apprenticeship such as Fachinformatiker with substantial practical experience in software testing.
Technologies and tools. JavaScript, C#, and common test automation frameworks for unit, integration, and end to end tests.
Compensation and Employment Conditions
Salary range from 45 000 euro up to 70 000 euro gross per year for highly qualified candidates.
Permanent employment contract.
Full time working hours of 40 hours per week.
28 days of annual vacation.
