Hauptaufgaben
Position incumbent supports the repair shops, repairing all types of military and commercial end items or major components thereof at the Maintenance Activity Kaiserslautern (MAK). Performs a variety of clerical and technical support tasks regarding the receipt, delivery, turn-in and control of different supply class items, to include equipment for the Test, Measurement, Diagnostic & Equipment (TMDE) organization; its proper handling and final processing of documentation and POL"s (Petroleum, Oil and Lubrications). Performs related office automation tasks.
Receives and in-checks incoming materiel against accompanying documents. Contacts Hand Receipt Holders (HRH), requisitioning officials or other staff members for clarification of areas regarding authorization, justification and status on items. From a variety of source documents such as FEDLOG, supply bulletins and various supply catalogs, determines proper classification, national stock number, unit cost, etc. for all property acquired for the MAK. Ensures that all property items are activated and classified within the automated data systems utilized in the supply and accountability of property. Ensures correctness, completeness, and proper condition of documentation and materiel prior to storage and pending repair of respective end items. Notes overages, shortages, or any damages incurred in shipping, and / or other deficiencies and initiates Reports of Discrepancy (ROD). Enters the necessary ROD information into the ROD Master File. Obtains a Materiel Requisition History System query for each ROD and provides the ROD and other pertinent information to higher level employees to resolve ROD problems and to assist in researching catalogs and database records for possible alternatives. Establishes new paperwork for missing documents by securing rudimentary information. Follows-up and redirects shipments sent to the Supply Support Activity by mistake. Selects materiel from stock locations for issue to maintenance customers. Ensures that Work order parts to be issued are completely documented, properly assembled and in serviceable condition, prior to the issuing of materiel to authorized personnel. Distributes copies of DD Forms 1348 to applicable organizations. Maintains a document and suspense file for all transactions. Performs extensive research to resolve quantity and owner discrepancies. Incumbent initiates adjustments to the records. Handles documentation to customers, and obtains acknowledgement for receipt. Operates a Standard Army Maintenance System (G-Army) workstation requesting, monitoring requisitions and posting receipts for any parts or TDA tools for MAK assigned programs, and or office PCs with windows application software programmed to sustain / control a variety of business processes within Supply section.
Maintains hand receipts on non expandable equipment and property assigned to the MAK, Production Control / Supply Division, to include equipment for the Test, Measurement, Diagnostic & Equipment (TMDE) organization and its proper handling and processing of documentation. Conducts inventories as required and initiates reports of survey, when necessary. Discusses requirements for new equipment and property and formulates justifications including mission requirement, workload data, organizational policies and equipment specifications. Is required to support, eventual temporarily lead a tool room and / or POL (Petroleum, Oil, Lubricants) storage, supporting the largest US Army owned GS repair facility in Europe.
Exercises care in the storage of materiel that requires protection against heat, cold, moisture, or other adverse influence or which present a safety hazard. Ensures that all property regardless of the classification avoids the possibility of fraud, waste, and abuse of government property. Participates in regular or special inventories. Assures clean and orderly condition of the storage area. As a parts runner, prepares necessary documentation and picks up missing parts for immediate required repair work.
Forklift Operator Functions : Must be skilled in the proper handling of operating controls of forklift trucks in moving about in narrow aisles in buildings, up and down ramps, in and out of carriers, and in places where there is very little room to move or stack loads. Must know the dimensions of the forklift truck and its load, its lifting capacity; and must be able to estimate heights and widths of doorways, aisles, shelves, bins and objects, and the weight of items to decide where the forklift and its load can be driven, where the load can be placed, whether the load can be lifted, and whether it is properly balanced. A certain degree of manual skill and physical ability is required to use hand trucks, to balance heavy loads and to move and place items in proper location.

Current employees who do not meet E&T Level I and who are not in the same or similar occupation must have 2 additional years of creditable experience as described in A below.
E&T Level II : 1 Jahr anrechenbare Erfahrung, wie beschrieben unter A.
E&T Level II : 1 year of creditable experience as defined in A below.
E&T Level III und höher : Keine zusätzlich Erfahrung erforderlich.
E&T Level III and above : No additional experience required.
Innerbetriebliche Arbeitnehmer, die bereits 1 Jahr im gleichen oder ähnlichen Tätigkeitsbereich beschäftigt sind, qualifizieren für den nächst höheren Bezahlungsgrad.
Current employees who have served one year in the same or similar occupation are qualified for the next higher grade.
Erfahrung A : Allgemeine Bürotätigkeit z. B. Computeranwendung, Buchführung, Inventuren, Telefon- oder Organisationsarbeit oder Kassierertätigkeit.
Experience A : Included clerical work in an office or store, working with computers, bookkeeping, making and recording inventories, telephone marketing, arranging for events or as a cashier, etc.
Applicants must be in possession of a German driver's license class B and be able to obtain and maintain a military driver's license.
Office automation skills are required.
Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a forklift operator license.

These are multiple permanent full-time positiona (38.5 hrs. / week).
If requirement exists, the incumbent of this position is obligated to perform TDY within and outside Germany, shift work, weekend and holiday work.
