As they expand their operations, they are seeking a talented Automation Engineer to join our team with the flexibility to work from Cologne or other locations.

Job Description :

As an Automation Engineer, you will play a critical role in the development and optimization of automation systems for our carbon removal processes.

You will be responsible for PLC programming using Siemens TIA Portal, reading and preparing electrical diagrams, and ensuring the seamless integration of automation solutions into our carbon capture technology.

Responsibilities :

• Develop and implement PLC programs using Siemens TIA Portal for automation systems supporting carbon capture processes.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to design and optimize control strategies for efficient operation and performance.
• Read, interpret, and prepare electrical diagrams and schematics, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.
• Configure and troubleshoot industrial control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
• Participate in commissioning and startup activities, ensuring smooth transition from design to operation.
• Provide technical support and training to operations and maintenance teams on automation systems.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience in PLC programming using Siemens TIA Portal for industrial automation projects.
• Strong ability to read, interpret, and prepare electrical diagrams and schematics.
• Knowledge of process instrumentation, control systems, and industrial communication protocols.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote or distributed team environment.
• Experience with ePlan or similar electrical design software is desirable.
• Passion for environmental sustainability and interest in carbon capture technologies.
