A global logistics company is looking to hire an Assistant Forwarder for their Ocean Import Department to join their team in Europe.
This entry-level role is perfect for someone who has a strong interest in international logistics and is eager to build a career in the global forwarding industry. While direct experience is not required, a flexible mindset, willingness to learn, and interest in global trade are essential. You’ll gain exposure to a wide range of logistics operations, support shipments from Japan, and interact with international clients and carriers.

Main Responsibilities:
•Handle ocean import operations primarily from Japan
• Prepare and manage shipping documents
• Enter shipment data into internal ERP systems
• Share ETA and shipment details with clients
• Coordinate with ocean carriers regarding additional charges or transit arrangements
• Arrange inland transportation
• Support quotation and invoice preparation
• Handle general commodity types, including some hazardous goods
• Collaborate with certified staff for customs clearance processes

Ideal Candidate:
• No prior experience required, but logistics interest is essential
• Flexible, proactive, eager to learn, and open to working with international teams
• Understanding of Japanese corporate culture would be a plus
• Comfortable using internal ERP systems
• Fluent in English (mandatory); Dutch or other European languages are a plus
