The Materials Synthetic Biology group lead by Prof. Wilfried Weber is seeking for a

Postdoc in Engineered Living Materials, Synthetic Biology, and Microbiology (f / m / d)

in the frame of the EIC-funded consortium LoopOfFun.

Within an interdisciplinary project you will engineering micro-organisms such as filamentous fungi and yeasts for the precisely controlled programming of sustainable, engineered living materials for different applications.

Your profile :

Doctorate (PhD) in natural sciences in the fields of microbiology (fungi), biochemistry, biomaterials, or comparable areas
Experience in one or several of the following fields

Handling and genetic engineering of filamentous fungi

Synthetic biology and protein engineering

Experience in the synthesis and characterization of (living) biohybrid materials

Ability to work in a team, flexibility, self-organization and enjoyment of scientific exchange

Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage ambitious projects with international partners.
