The Materials Synthetic Biology group lead by Prof. Wilfried Weber is seeking for a

Postdoc in Engineered Living Materials, Synthetic Biology, and Microbiology (f / m / d)

in the frame of the EIC-funded consortium LoopOfFun.

Within an interdisciplinary project you will engineering micro-organisms such as filamentous fungi and yeasts for the precisely controlled programming of sustainable, engineered living materials for different applications.

Your profile :

  • Doctorate (PhD) in natural sciences in the fields of microbiology (fungi), biochemistry, biomaterials, or comparable areas
  • Experience in one or several of the following fields

Handling and genetic engineering of filamentous fungi

  • Synthetic biology and protein engineering
  • Experience in the synthesis and characterization of (living) biohybrid materials
  • Ability to work in a team, flexibility, self-organization and enjoyment of scientific exchange
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage ambitious projects with international partners.
