Working Student (d / f / m) for supervision of the ProtoSpace in Ulm

About ProtoSpace

ProtoSpace is the prototyping lab of Airbus, a creative space where makers come together to bring their ideas to life and validate their assumptions by designing, building, testing, learning, and iterating on their prototypes.

Equipped with 3D printers, AR / VR devices, and a variety of electronic components, we empower Airbus innovators to work quickly and disruptively.

We provide the space and resources to enable our employees to innovate at startup speed.

Working students are students who are enrolled at a University or some other institution of higher education, and who are employed in a reasonably long, fixed-term position parallel to their studies.

This position must not be confused with an internship or with the possibility of writing a final thesis.

This employment usually takes place directly on the company's premises. A working student's main focus remains on their studies, which is why, during term-time, working students are not allowed to work more than 20 hours per week.

Working students therefore usually work near their place of study, so as to conveniently combine studying and employment.

Your tasks and responsibilities

The working student (d / f / m) supports the operation of ProtoSpace at Airbus Defence and Space in Ulm. You support colleagues on-site by teaching them new and exciting technologies and performing related tasks as needed.

A strong eagerness to learn and communicate is essential for acquiring and sharing knowledge with peers. Responsibilities include organizing workshops, administration, setting up and maintaining innovation room assets, and collaborating with other ProtoSpaces.

Support the operation of our innovation room "ProtoSpace," including organizing workshops, administration, setting up innovation room assets, and collaborating with other ProtoSpaces.

Research technologies and approaches based on personal interest and suggestions from colleagues.

Identify pain points in colleagues’ development processes and explore suitable solutions / improvements.

Document and present the results of development efforts.

Desired skills and qualifications

Enrolled student (d / f / m) in Information Technology, Games Engineering, or a related field of study.

Strong team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.

Fluent in German or English.
