How You'll Make An Impact

Join the API Control Plane team as a Software Quality Principal Engineer and help shape the future of API Management. The API Control Plane streamlines API governance, improves security, and provides a consistent user experience while managing APIs across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. In this role, you will work closely with product management, other engineering teams, customer success, and support to develop cutting-edge features and enhancements across Boomi’s API Management offerings. You will be instrumental in driving the quality of our solutions, contributing to both manual and automated testing to ensure the stability of the software. Your expertise in identifying edge cases, advocating for automation and solving complex customer problems will ensure that our platform realizes the full potential of our customers' APIs for their business goals and requirements.

  • This is a hybrid position located in Darmstadt, Hesse

What You'll Do

  • Be a key member of an Agile team, collaboratively realizing features through the software development lifecycle
  • Guide and participate in the design, development testing, and deployment of Boomi products and services including enhancements and / or resolution of any issues that may be reported
  • Investigate and resolve complex customer issues
  • Work independently with a minimal level of guidance from technical leadership
  • Gather information to help formulate acceptance criteria, be a user advocate, and be comfortable challenging and discussing the intent of stories to surface edge cases and improve outcomes
  • Contribute to manual and automated testing suites to ensure future software stability and be an advocate for automation first

    The Experience You Bring

  • 8+ years experience in software quality assurance and testing
  • Ability to learn new tools, languages, and operating systems with some training and on-the-job experience
  • Experience in web application testing using frameworks such as Selenium WebDriver, Playwright
  • Experience with API / backend testing and automation
  • Experience with Java, source control systems, continuous integration tools
  • Experience with agile collaboration tools, such as JIRA and Confluence
  • Experience with Web Services technologies including REST and GraphQL
  • English language skills

    • Bonus Points If You Have

  • Understanding of Application Integration
  • Experience using Linux / Unix environments
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies (e.g. AWS)
  • Familiarity with containerization such as EKS, and infrastructure as code such as Cloudformation and Terraform
  • Experience working in the SaaS domain
  • German language is beneficial as it is spoken in the office!
