Job Description

As a member of a team providing services to EUMETSAT, you will have the following responsibilities :

  • Port selected requirements from document to electronic media;
  • Update the requirements in electronic repositories (i.e. DOORS databases) and dumping the result in document, to allow formal signature process;
  • Contribute to the maintenance of the requirement baseline at System and Ground Segment levels for operational missions;
  • Ensure that the traceability of the Ground Segment requirements of operational missions is properly maintained, upwards to the System Requirements and downwards to the Segment;
  • Analysis of requirements of operational missions to identify obsolete or outdated requirements which need to be formally modified;
  • Contribute to the process of formalising modifications in the requirement baseline for operational missions, including the preparation of Document Change Requests and participation in Configuration Review Boards;
  • Contribute to the generation of the requirements at Ground Segment levels for new missions, by derivation from higher level requirement documents;
  • Ensure that the traceability of the Ground Segment requirements of new missions is properly maintained, upwards to the System Requirements and downwards to the Segment.

Qualifications

You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience :

  • At least 3 years’ experience in Systems Engineering and IV&V related activities for at least one major element of a ground segment for earth observation missions;
  • Knowledge of space and ground system engineering processes, and system and software life-cycles and standards;
  • Knowledge of space and ground system engineering processes, and system and software life-cycles and standards;
  • Experience in change control procedures;
  • Experience in writing technical requirements;
  • Definition, management and traceability of requirements structure with the support of dedicated tools (e.g. DOORS);
  • Experience in interface management and definition, including familiarity with mechanisms and tools for detailed interface definition and capability to prepare and manage ICD;
  • Experience with formal testing (FAT / OSAT), including preparation of test procedures, TRRs / TRBs;
  • Experience in formal verification control processes (VCBs) and maintenance of VCDs;
  • Use of modelling and design languages for System Engineering and tools in support of architectural design activitie;
  • Experience in operational environments under strict configuration management rules;
  • Experience in maintenance of ground system and associated anomaly management process;
  • Experience with Data Processing systems for earth observation missions;
  • Experience with Satellite Mission Control systems for earth observation missions.
