Lead DevOps Engineer / SRE

Location : Berlin, Germany (Hybrid, can consider remote working)

Salary : Up to €120,000 per annum

Position : Full-time, Permanent

To support their growth, they are seeking a Staff DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer to join their dynamic Berlin team.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for improving automation and standardisation across the engineering department. Your work will empower teams to operate independently by providing robust tools and maintaining stable, scalable infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Automate and enhance CI / CD pipelines (e.g., Github Actions), ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Implement infrastructure provisioning and configuration management automation.
  • Apply site reliability engineering (SRE) best practices to guarantee high infrastructure availability.
  • Share knowledge and foster a culture of empowerment across the engineering department.
  • Design cost-effective, resilient systems supporting a microservices-based technology landscape.

What We’re Looking For :

Essential Skills :

  • Proficiency in automation and tooling, including scripting and CI / CD tools.
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, GitOps, Terraform, and Prometheus.
  • Expertise in operating systems and computer network essentials (DNS, TLS, HTTP).
  • Skilled in system health monitoring, troubleshooting, and implementing solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working across diverse teams.
  • Desirable Skills :

  • Proficiency in Go, Python, or Bash scripting.
  • Experience with cloud or other managed infrastructure solutions.
  • Familiarity with managing microservices-based systems.
