Position : IT Project Manager – HR / Workday

Overview :

We are seeking a skilled IT Project Manager with expertise in HR systems, particularly Workday, to join our team. This role will be essential in managing the implementation, configuration, and optimization of our Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) system, ensuring it meets business needs and supports our overall people management strategy. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who can effectively bridge technical and business requirements to drive HR technology initiatives forward.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Project Management : Lead end-to-end project management for Workday HCM implementations, upgrades, and enhancements. Plan and oversee project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration : Work closely with HR, IT, and other departments to gather requirements, define project scope, and translate business needs into technical specifications. Act as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • System Optimization : Drive continuous improvement of the Workday HCM platform, recommending and implementing enhancements that support automation, compliance, and best practices.
  • Vendor and Partner Management : Manage external partners and implementation consultants to ensure project milestones are met and system configurations align with organizational standards.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance : Coordinate user acceptance testing, troubleshoot issues, and monitor for quality and accuracy of system configurations and updates.
  • Documentation and Training : Develop and maintain project documentation, workflows, and user guides. Facilitate training sessions for end-users and stakeholders to ensure smooth adoption of new functionalities.

Qualifications :

  • Experience : 3+ years in IT project management with a focus on HR systems, preferably Workday. Proven success in managing multiple HR IT projects from initiation to completion.
  • Technical Skills : Strong understanding of Workday HCM modules (e.g., Core HCM, Talent, Compensation), system configuration, and HR data management.
  • Analytical Ability : Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and address complex technical challenges. Experience in translating business requirements into actionable technical plans.
  • Communication Skills : Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Project Management Certifications : PMP, PRINCE2, or certification in Workday HCM is preferred.
  • Languages : Proficiency in English and German
