The position will be based in the Institute of Educational Research in the School of Education.
The position is to be taken up by 1st of April, 2024.
The Institute for Educational Research in the School of Education focuses on empirical school-related research on educational and special needs education issues in the context of different levels and institutions of the educational system. In the teacher education programme, it is responsible for the educational science components as well as the special education components.
We are looking for a personality whose area of responsibility is empirical research on topics related to primary education and represents educational sciences in teacher training courses especially in the elementary school teacher programme. The person should address current challenges in primary education, taking into account the institutional and societal context.

Besides pedagogical suitability, which has to be proven by appropriate previous experience or, in exceptional cases, demonstrated by excellent performance during the appointment procedure, the applicant is expected to have a particular aptitude for scientific work substantiated by the outstanding quality of a doctorate. Further scientific achievements must be demonstrated additionally and will be evaluated exclusively and comprehensively during the appointment procedure. The requirements for appointment to a first professorship include junior professorships, habilitations, employment as a research assistant at a university or at a non-university research institution and scientific positions in business, in administration or another social field in Germany or abroad.
The successful candidate is expected to actively support academic self-governance at the university.
