We are seeking an IT Lab Administrator for our biotech labs in Heidelberg. We are looking for an IT technician to help support our scientists with lab instruments and software. This role will be part of a team supporting the lab space with applications, instruments and infrastructure from idea to operations and decommissioning. This role will also be the face of the team on a daily basis in the labs, ensuring that our scientists can focus on science. You will be part of the Global Lab IT Product Team which consist of 4 people based in Heidelberg, Germany and Hellerup, Denmark.  The team is known for relentlessly delivering to our scientific internal customers and utilizing the latest trends in technology to enable business strategy. The team is fast paced and collaborative. You will report to Jakob Monajemzadeh Thrane, People Leader in Global IT, and to Ivanna Rosendal, Global Head of Digitalization, from a functional point of view. Both are based in HQ in Hellerup, Denmark.

You will be based in Heidelberg.

Your key responsibilities will be :

  • 1st, 2nd and 3rd level IT support and troubleshooting in office and laboratory environments
  • Technical responsibility for all local IT operations (branch office Heidelberg)
  • Responsibility for design, further development, provision and maintenance of local IT resources
  • Ensuring an efficiently functioning local IT infrastructure and the continuous optimization of IT services and Processes
  • Conceptualization, steering and documentation of IT projects and tasks
  • Close cooperation with the international Global IT department at different branches and external service providers
  • Monitoring the IT onboarding and training of local staff

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills :

You hold a relevant academic degree – minimum a bachelor’s degree from a natural science, IT, Digital, Engineering or something completely different – and 5+ years of experience from a related role in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related environment.

Furthermore, you have :

  • Extensive understanding of Windows Client and Server (2012 to current) and M365
  • Experience with laboratory environment and related hard- and software solutions
  • Experience with ticket systems (ServiceNow), backup solutions (Veeam), and monitoring solutions
  • You have basic network knowledge
  • You have SAN experiences
  • You have been working in an agile team, relentlessly improving your working practices
  • You have already worked with agile project tools (Azure DevOps)
  • German and English language skills, both written and verbal
  • Willingness to learn

    Travel : 10 – 25 days per year.
