Index Product Development Specialist - Chartered Investment

As part of Chartered Investment Germany GmbH (CIG), which sees itself as a capital-markets-as-a-service company, we contribute to the establishment and development of investment and index solutions. To strengthen our team, we are looking for an Index Product Development Specialist (m/f/d) who enjoys working in a team, takes on responsibility, and actively supports our further development.

Your tasks

• Generate ideas for new index solutions and translate client requirements and market trends into scalable and implementable index concepts.
• Build prototypes and conduct backtests for newly proposed index structures to ensure robustness and viability.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as IT, legal, risk, and operations to ensure smooth index implementation and lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with sales and business development teams to uncover client needs and identify new market opportunities.
• Ensure index methodologies align with industry and regulatory standards.
• Conduct research on market trends and stay ahead of index industry relevant developments.
• Contribute to the automation and improvement of index calculation, validation, and operational processes.
• Prepare presentations, reports, and analytical materials for client meetings, sales pitches, and internal decision-making.

Your profile

• Academic degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics or similar.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in index construction or product development, within financial markets.
• Strong understanding of index methodologies, financial instruments, and market trends.
• Proficiency in data analysis, quantitative modeling, and backtesting tools.
• Established network within banks, asset managers, and family offices is a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with SQL is a plus.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Matlab, VBA and/or R.
• Excellent English presentation and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to clients. German is a plus.
