Head of Sales - Consumer Goods Brand

Our client specializes in the sales & marketing of innovative & cutting edge consumer electronics goods as well as helping tech brands and start-ups to achieve sustainable sales success.

We probably should not say this, but they are one of our favourite clients to work with!

Their goal is to establish innovative brands sustainably and successfully in the German-speaking region and they have a team that are so passionate about this which it was makes them such a pleasure to work with.

This Head of Sales would be joining to take over key retail sales relationships, Media Markt, Expert, Euronics etc as well as managing the field sales team and overall sales strategy.

Each person within this business has shaped their own path so the best way to think of this is running your own business, within a business.

Position Overview :

As the Head of Sales for our startup consumer goods client in Germany, you will be a key player in shaping key retailer relationships, sales strategy and establishing their market presence.

This is a unique opportunity for a self-motivated and results-oriented individual to make a significant impact in a rapidly growing startup environment.

Responsibilities :

This is an operational role and this Head of Sales will be managing customer / retailer relationships as well as leading the strategy and the team.

  • Develop and execute a hands-on, results-driven sales strategy to establish and expand our brand in the German market.
  • Build and lead a high-performing sales team, providing mentorship and guidance to achieve ambitious sales targets.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key retail partners, distributors, and other strategic stakeholders.
  • Implement and iterate on sales processes, ensuring efficiency and adaptability in a dynamic startup environment.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and consumer feedback to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, particularly marketing, to align efforts and maximize overall brand impact.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of consumer preferences, providing insights for product development.

Who we are looking for :

  • Proven track record of success in a hands-on sales environment
  • Experience with Media Markt, Euronics or Expert
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to inspire and lead a sales team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of the German consumer goods market, with a keen awareness of industry trends.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to adapt and thrive in a startup culture.
  • Willingness to be hands-on and proactive in a fast paced startup setting.

The role itself is difficult to do justice in an advert as there is so much room for you to create and mould your own responsibilities.

Salary is c. €100 000 fixed, plus bonus of c €15 000
