To strengthen their global operations, they are seeking a visionary Director of Global Supply Chain to join their team in Cologne.

Role Overview :

The Director of Global Supply Chain will be responsible for overseeing and optimising end-to-end supply chain operations on a global scale. This role will play a pivotal part in ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability while aligning supply chain strategies with the organisation’s overarching business goals. The ideal candidate will bring strategic vision, operational excellence, and a deep understanding of the FMCG industry.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Global Supply Chain Strategy :
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive global supply chain strategy that aligns with business objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and efficiency improvements to gain a competitive edge in the FMCG market.
  • Operations & Optimisation :
  • Oversee procurement, production planning, inventory management, logistics, and distribution functions globally.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices, technologies, and processes to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Lead initiatives to streamline and digitise supply chain processes while ensuring scalability.
  • Stakeholder Management :
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, sales, marketing, and finance, to ensure alignment of supply chain operations with business objectives.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers, distributors, and key partners to foster collaboration and mutual success.
  • Sustainability :
  • Champion sustainability initiatives within the supply chain, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and corporate responsibility standards.
  • Optimise transportation and logistics to reduce carbon footprint.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a global team of supply chain professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and high performance.
  • Ensure the team is equipped with the skills and tools required to meet organisational goals.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks within the supply chain, ensuring continuity and resilience during disruptions.
  • Monitor market trends, geopolitical developments, and economic factors that could impact supply chain operations.

Key Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in a senior supply chain leadership role within the FMCG sector, with a track record of delivering measurable results.
  • Deep knowledge of global supply chain operations, including procurement, manufacturing, logistics, and distribution.
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans.
  • Demonstrated expertise in implementing digital supply chain solutions and leveraging data for decision-making.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with experience leading diverse and cross-cultural teams.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in German is a strong advantage.
  • Strong understanding of sustainability practices within the supply chain.
