Your role
Sustainability, in all its many facets, is an integral part of our business model, our strategy and purpose. We have deeply integrated this mentality into the Group. For Symrise, it’s important not only to make sustainability an operational reality. We also track, report and measure our progress along the way.
The Corporate Sustainability Manager (m / f / d) plays a pivotal role in driving the Sustainability / ESG reporting of the Symrise group by developing a strategic roadmap to ensure compliance with the regulatory requirements and processes relevant to corporate ESG reporting in line with recognized EU CSRD standards.
Reporting to our Chief Sustainability Officer and Head of Corporate Communications, you will act as an interface to Corporate Communications, Corporate Controlling, Corporate Accounting and Investor Relations to ensure coherent targets and implementation.
In this highly strategic and interdisciplinary role, you will :
- Create a strategic roadmap, implementing the requirements and processes for various projects, especially related to EU requirements on sustainability reporting
- Further develop a corporate ESG strategy aligned with the latest requirements and reporting needs of recognized ESG standards such as EU Taxonomy
- Ensure comprehensive data collection to comply with current and future EU regulations and ESG reporting requirements
- Monitor and report on ESG performance, providing regular updates to internal stakeholder and investors
- Conduct comprehensive ESG assessments of investment opportunities and provide insights to support decision-making
- Conduct benchmarking by evaluating and analyzing data in the sustainability area, deduct specific actions and identify emerging trends
- Collaborate with internal teams to integrate ESG factors into investment processes and risk assessments
About you
Master’s degree in Controlling, Accounting, Sustainability, Business Administration, or another relevant disciplineAt least 3 years of professional experience in sustainability and ESG management in industry or consulting / auditing firm, with a deep understanding of current and upcoming sustainability requirementsProfessional experience with sustainability reporting, reporting frameworks and requirements, especially CSRD and EU TaxonomyExpert knowledge of EU Taxonomy, the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR)Strong strategic thinking and project management skills, with experience in a cross-functional role, preferably in an international business environmentEntrepreneurial thinking as well as good comprehension and a structured way of working, with a high degree of initiative and independencyStrong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teamsEnglish language proficiency is a must; German and / or French language skills are advantageousOur offer
