Tasks & responsibilities

In your new role, you will ensure the usability, maintenance, and further development of a functional data science IT infrastructure for data storage, processing, and analysis in alignment with regulatory requirements.

That leads to the definition of a common and harmonized infrastructure technology stack for the data science teams within TMCP.

In addition, you will communicate the consolidated infrastructure requirements to corporate IT and ensure the respective implementation.

That includes guiding technological advancements of the data science technology ecosystem within TMCP.

• In that respect, you will also scout for trends in data science relevant software tools, infrastructure components, standardization, or digital tech solutions within and outside Boehringer Ingelheim.
• Furthermore, you will ensure and oversee IT application infrastructure training measures and user support.
• In closely collaborating with functional quality representatives, you will implement a validation strategy and compliance concept for the IT applications and infrastructure used by the data science teams within TMCP.
• Thus, you will serve as an interface between the data science teams within TMCP, neighboring functions and external service providers concerning infrastructure topics.

That includes aligning and driving cross-functional topics within your area of expertise.

Requirements

• PhD or master's degree (MEng, MSc) in life science, data science, statistics, computer science, software / computer engineering, or related field with several years of professional expertise within the pharmaceutical industry or CROs
• Broad experience in IT infrastructure topics, tools, and methods relevant for data sciences, including technology oversight and competitive landscape (Windows, Unix, Linux, IT set-ups, high-performance-clusters, cloud computing, virtualized server architectures etc.)
• Track record of successful development, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure strategies for various customers
• Basic knowledge in multiple pharmacometrics, clinical bioinformatics or systems pharmacology technologies as well as data storage and handling tools (e.

g., nonlinear mixed-effects modeling, NONMEM, OMICS or other complex data such as images, speech, EEG, cloud services, etc.)

• Advanced experience in GxP compliant practices and functional / validated IT systems
• Advanced knowledge in at least two of the following programming languages (R, Python, Julia, C / C#, SAS)
• Proficient oral and written communication skills in English
