We are working with an international high-end food and nutrition manufacturer, recognised for their innovation and market-leading products across Europe. Known for their commitment to quality and performance, they are now seeking a Head of Procurement (Protein / FMCG) to lead their strategic purchasing operations within the functional foods category.
This is a key senior position, offering the opportunity to shape procurement strategy across multiple product groups—including proteins, bars, and functional drinks—while partnering closely with Supply Chain and Commercial teams to deliver value, reliability, and sustainable growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a strategic procurement framework across raw materials, packaging, and co-manufacturing.
- Lead supplier selection, negotiation, and performance management for high-value contracts (€500k+).
- Build and maintain a network of trusted suppliers across CEE, Portugal, and Germany.
- Drive cost optimisation and risk mitigation strategies, including dual-sourcing and secondary supplier models.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (SCM, Sales, and Product Development) to ensure availability, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor market trends, identify new sourcing opportunities, and continuously improve procurement efficiency and resilience.
- Establish and track KPIs to measure performance, compliance, and value delivery.
Experience Required
Proven experience in strategic procurement within food, nutrition, or FMCG , ideally involving protein, whey, or functional ingredients.Track record of successful contract negotiations above €500k.In-depth knowledge of global supply markets, supplier risk management, and cost modelling.Hands-on experience with SAP systems and procurement tools.Strong analytical, commercial, and interpersonal skills.Self-driven, structured, and able to thrive in a fast-paced international environment.Qualifications
Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.7+ years’ experience in procurement or strategic sourcing, ideally within the food ingredients or nutritional products sector.Fluent in English; additional European languages (German, Polish, or Portuguese) advantageous.Benefits
