Client Background

TheNuremberg Research Center is responsible for Advanced Technology Research, Architecture Evolution Design and Strategic Technology Planning.

Digital Power is a business unit that provides Enterprise & Industry customers, products and solutions like clean power generation, transportation electrification, site power facilities, data center facilities, and embedded power. Our purpose is to integrate Digital and Power Electronics technologies to provide customers with high-quality, energy-efficient, green, and low-carbon power electronics products, facilitating their business success.

The Power Conversion Technology Laboratory within the Nuremberg Research Center is responsible for Advanced Digital Power Technology Research, Architecture Evolution Design and Strategic Technology Planning, and plays an important role in the Digital Power business in the design and development of power converters and control systems for applications such as PV Solar & Battery Energy Storage Field, Data Centers, Electric Vehicle, and Embedded Power Supply.

Responsibilities

Responsible for Advanced Technology Research, Architecture Evolution Design and Strategic Technology Planning for brake systems

Responsible for ABS / TCS / ESC / TV control, proposition of new technology research fields, development and application

Leading brake system concept proposals, function development, performance matching, part specification, calibration strategies, objective and subjective assessments

Leading brake by wire technical insight, concept analysis, function definition, system development and modeling, software development, function integration and testing up to proof of concept stage

Support for modeling and optimization of vehicle stability control, control strategy and control algorithm of torque vector systems

Follow the model-based design method MBD to develop and verify the algorithm model, including Matlab / Simulink modeling, simulation, road test, etc.

Support the failure mode analysis, related to system development confirmation algorithm and support the development of system functions

Regularly attend top global conferences on the subject and stay up to date with latest technology developments.

Requirements

You hold a Master / PHD degree in vehicle engineering, automatic control or any other related field

You have at least 8 years experience in research in the field of brake system (such as electro-hydraulic / electro-mechanical brakes)

Experience in mass production projects of brake projects

Experience in system / upper application software development of ESP products VDC module

Published a number of technical papers on the subject

Proficient in classical and modern control theory, model predictive control or robust control and other common control methods

Have a good network in universities and engineering community related to brake by wire.

General knowledge in C language programming design and debugging, familiar with embedded software development and you own a certain understanding of hardware design,

Skilled in using Matlab / Simulink, CarSim / Carmaker for modeling and simulation, code generation and capable of model-based development (MBD)

Familiar with vehicle chassis control, body dynamics and tire characteristics and with EPS, ESC, torque vector and chassis integrated control algorithm

Fluent in written and spoken English, working language; German language skills are a plus
