Senior Application Engineer – Power Electronics/Power Semiconductors

Based in Nuremberg, the Senior Applications Engineer will be joining an established organisation at the forefront of power electronics technologies used in various applications including Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems and Electric vehicles.

The Senior Applications Engineer will be responsible for leading and executing various research and development projects in power semiconductor devices and package technology for power conversion applications.

Other responsibilities include:

• Work with internal and external stakeholders to identify and formulate power semiconductor devices and package relevant application engineering requirements for Industrial applications
• Support technology roadmap development for next-generation power semiconductors and Packaging for power conversion applications
• Work with external R&D Institutes and Universities in developing novel converters for power electronic applications

Requirements of the role

Alongside a degree in Power electronics or electrical and electronics engineering the Senior Applications Engineer Should have a proven background in the following:

• Power electronics, power semiconductor devices & packaging
• R&D experience in the field of power electronics, power semiconductor devices & packaging
