Your profile

Your role as (Senior) Data Engineer

As data engineer, you will be a crucial expert member of the technology team and ensure our core business model : bringing together building data from various sources in a reliant and scalable way.

Data is the central asset for the BuildingMinds platform and all its services, and you will be its guardian and the facilitator.

By bringing in your expertise in data pipelines, you will play an essential role in growing and nurturing the data sources and quality in our platform and taking our product to the next level.

In detail you will :

• H el p to shape and deliver future data engineering and data management strategy of BuildingMinds with focus on our sustainability service.
• H elp to build and extend solution modelling and suggesting retrofits to real estate holders.
• Implement framework to calculate carbon footprint of real estate.
• Build ETL pipelines, data architectures and data products.
• Designing and developing intelligent analytical solutions.
• A utomate and monitor the process of data ingression and storage from various heterogenous and global data sources.
• Support d ocumentation of all data structures, transformations and content
• C ollaborating with Product Owners, Domain Experts, Tech Leads, Data Scientists and Data Analysts to provide high value data products to our customers.

We would like to hear from you if you have :

• an MSc, or PhD in in appropriate technology field (computer science, physics, statistics, applied mathematics, operations research, etc.)
• 5 + years of hands-on professional data engineering, analytics engineering, machine learning engineering or ETL / ELT developer experience
• Hands-on-experience with the Big Data ecosystem, e.g. Spark, Airflow, Kafka, and others
• Strong craftsmanship in Python
• Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with multiple data architecture paradigms
• Familiarity with Microservice paradigms and related technologies, such as Kubernetes, Docker and REST API’s
• Very good database knowledge (database design and programming), e.g. PostgreSQL
• Practical knowledge of the Azure data stack is highly beneficial (Azure Data Lake, Databricks, Data Factory, etc.)
• Experience in column-oriented databases and DWHs like Clickhouse, Snowflake, BigQuery or Redshift.
• Good communication skills and ability to collect data related requirements.
• General knowledge and experience in data science and machine learning engineering concepts would be nice to have as well as previous experience in sustainability domain.
