The job

In the Microbiome Biology group of the Department of Molecular Toxicology in Leipzig, we invite applications for a PhD Position (f / m / x) to research in the project METAMIC 3 (Metaproteome-based leveraged microbiome management in the context of One Health) which is funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Network.

Your tasks

• You work in a group that works with mass spectrometer
• You extract whole proteomes from microbial cultures, human matrices and perform metaproteome applications
• You study the influence of microbial effectors in continuous stirred reactors (in vitro bioreactors) using a simplified human gut microbiome model (SIHUMIx) and to separate the soluble and particle-bound bacteria and measure their abundance, composition and their molecular functions using metaproteomics
• You present results at international conferences and prepare publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals
