StellenbeschreibungCompany DescriptionAt Bosch, we shape the future by inventing high-quality technologies and services that spark enthusiasm and enrich people’s lives. Our promise to our associates is rock-solid : we grow together, we enjoy our work, and we inspire each other.Join in and feel the difference.TheRobert Bosch GmbH is looking forward to your application!Job DescriptionThe Shaft-Gear-Bearing-Housing system is a central configuration in gear transmission mechanisms. Methods like the Finite Element Method (FEM) are used to model the components, followed by dynamic simulations to predict the behavior of the gear pairs and other components under dynamic loading. The complexity arises from contact nonlinearities at various positions in the transmission system. This research project aims to perform dynamic simulations of selected gear transmission components. Model order reduction techniques will be applied to accelerate these simulations. Additionally, the dynamic performance of the gear transmission will be analyzed and assessed.During your thesis you will review current research literature and analyze the state-of-the-art in dynamic simulation of gears as well as explore the latest model order reduction techniques. You will implement dynamic simulations and MOR methods in Matlab or Python.Furthermore, you will conduct a detailed comparative analysis of the results using a variety of methods. You will sharpen your analytical skills and learn how to extract valuable insights from data. Finally, you will document your findings clearly and structured, as well as prepare an engaging presentation of the results.QualificationsEducation :Master studies in the field ofComputational Mechanics, Computational Science, Mechanical Engineering or comparableExperience and Knowledge :in structural dynamics, model order reduction and finite element methodsPersonality and Working Practice :you excel at taking initiative, collaborating effectively with team members, and working independently to solve problemsLanguages :fluent in written and spoken English or GermanAdditional InformationStart :according to prior agreementDuration :6 monthsRequirement for this thesis is the enrollment at university. Please attach your CV, transcript of records, examination regulations and if indicated a valid work and residence permit.Diversity and inclusion are not just trends for us but are firmly anchored in our corporate culture.
