Duties and responsibilities
- You will develop a platform and associated control software for digital surgery platforms based on robotics, navigation, and imaging
- Your initial focus will be including but not limited to the development of concepts and prototypes for new surgical robotic applications.
- Further project phases will focus on safety critical real-time software, development of algorithms for robots and sensors and the development of our user facing application (application development)
- Your will create well-structured and maintainable software components using state-of-the-art software design approaches
- You will work in a scrum team collaborating with other software developers as well as with software architects, robotics engineers, system engineers, UX engineers, quality engineers and product owners
- You are open to work on all phases of product development from early concepts to implementation and Verification and Validation activities
- You will comply with medical software standards and have the responsibility of developing, integrating, and validating your own software modules
Professional competencies
Ideally a PhD in Robotics or related disciplinesInitial experience with medical robotics and the design of mechatronic systemsProfound engineering background with a minimum of 3 years industrial experience in developing complex software within a teamGood knowledge in kinematics, dynamics, sensor-actor systems and controlSeveral years of C++ development experience and knowledge about modern C++Initial experience in requirements engineering would be beneficialExperience in developing algorithms for robots such as controllers, motion planners, inverse kinematics solutions and / or dynamic models is an advantageExperience with real-time programming on Linux, ROS2 and / or distributed systems would be beneficialExperience in testing your approaches in semi-automated approaches (e.g. unit testing, mocking, hardware in the loop tests)Technologies we currently use are C++, Python, Qt, OpenCV, ROS2, GTest / GMock, Git, Azure DevOps, Linux, and RT Linux - Experience in any of these technologies would be an advantageWorking experience in a regulated field (medical, aerospace, automotive) would be desirablePersonal competencies
