We are looking for an exceptional individual to join ExoMatter as a Scientific Software Engineer. In this role you will be responsible for implementing scientific code for the calculation of new materials and their properties to further develop our Materials R&D platform.

Tasks
As a Scientific Software Engineer you will join the Engineering Team and make sure that scientific code runs scalably on a cloudbased platform.
You work at the intersection of software engineering and computational materials scienceYou will use scripts data and scientific literature researched by our internal science team to build highquality code in pythonYou will implement scientific calculations such as thermodynamic and physical calculations and combinatorial approachesOccasionally you will implement inhouse calculation routines using firstprinciple methods such as Density Functional Theory (DFT) and Molecular Dynamics (MD) as well as internallydeveloped Machine Learning Models to calculate material propertiesYou will report directly to the CTORequirements
Ideally you have a background both in (computational) materials science and Software Engineering at a software company.
You hold a degree in Chemistry Physics Materials Science Materials Engineering or similar ideally with a PhDYou are familiar with materials simulation methods such as DFT at least conceptuallyYou have at least one year of relevant professional experienceFluent in spoken and written English German skills are a plusYou live in Munich or want to move to Munich within 34 months and are then willing to work ca. 50% of your time onsiteNot required but a plus :
