JBAndrews is partnered with a well-funded startup in the robotics and AI automation space and they are looking for a Robotics Hardware Engineer to join its growing team in Hamburg . This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy hands-on work with cutting-edge robotic systems in real-world industrial environments.

Position : Robotics Hardware Engineer

Location : Hamburg, Germany (On-site)

Industry : AI-powered Robotics & Automation

Salary : €60,000–€100,000 + Equity + Benefits

Travel : 25–50% Germany (Rare travel to US)

Key Responsibilities :

  • Own full-cycle mechanical design - from concept to deployment across global industrial automation projects.
  • Lead robotic system integration for customer pilots, trade shows, and internal builds.
  • Manage mechanical labs and oversee hardware procurement and QA.
  • Support international on-site installations and troubleshoot technical issues with customers.
  • Ensure successful project delivery through proactive planning and risk management.

Requirements :

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
  • Strong CAD skills (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, etc.) and prototyping experience.
  • Hands-on with system assembly, tolerances, material selection, and manufacturing methods.
  • Experience with Python and Linux; knowledge of robot programming languages (URScript, KRL, RAPID, etc.) is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail in a startup environment.
