We are looking for a Senior Engineer System Safety (m / f / d) with aerospace background to support our safety engineering team in Germany. You will ensure that Airbus products are developed and designed according to the relevant airworthiness regulations and that safety objectives are achieved throughout the whole lifecycle. You are interested in assessing complex functions through Aircrafts and Systems analyses. You are investigating the propagation of potential malfunctions and the resulting repercussions on the aircraft and its occupants and you are defining mitigation means and design precautions.

Your tasks and responsibilities

Performing System Safety Assessment activities for aircraft systems, supporting the phases during and after certification

Generating and update of assessments (Functional Hazard Assessment / System Safety Assessment) of intended design modifications to influence the system architecture according to the required System Safety / System Integrity

Perform safety analysis of in-service events and support the continued airworthiness process

Performing Risk Analyses, according to the applicable guidance and standards, which are required to support the continuous aircraft development (including Permit to Fly / Type Certificate)

Performing analyses of Common-Cause (Particular Risk Analysis, Zonal Safety Analysis and Common Mode Analysis)

Determine the particular Safety requirements for system developments or modifications with respect to hardware and software

Manage input from and output to interfacing technical domains and technology (processes, maintenance, human error, aircraft performance and quality, etc.)

Review, approval and application of supplier data regarding Safety and Reliability Generating the System Safety Assessment documentation, based on traceable results and evidence, as mandatory proof to acquire the Type Certificate

Desired skills and qualifications

You have a completed degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent

For this position, you bring appropriate knowledge and experience in the above-mentioned areas of responsibility

Knowledge / understanding of Aircraft systems

Comprehensive System Safety Assessment experience and advanced knowledge of Safety processes, regulations and guidelines (ARP 4761, ARP 4754A)

You are target-oriented with analytic problem-solving skills

You are willing to learn new thinks

You are able to perform several Systems Safety tasks in parallel

You are a team player, organized and autonomous person with good communication skills

Very good written and spoken English and German
